Cost Saving Tips1) Design your document with it’s purpose and budget in mind. Do not spend extra dollars unless they enhance the project and are expected to generate greater returns. The smartest economy is to achieve the greatest return on your investment, not necessarily the cheapest product. If you allow us we will attempt to guide you in realizing that goal. Please ask questions before and during the design phase (see design tips and our FAQ section), we will gladly give you the benefit of our expertise. 2) Where the impact of color is important, but budget considerations are limiting, we can use color(s) on the front for effect, and black or a single color on the back and /or inside for economy. People do judge a book by its cover. 3) Most businesses fall within the eighty-twenty rule. That is 80%, (or a majority) of orders come from 20% (or a minority) of customers. We can take the same file and produce any percentage in full or partial color for your most promising opportunities, and the balance in more economical fashion for mass distribution. 4) The least expensive way to add color to your documents, especially short runs, is to use colored paper. The additional cost of colored paper is very small, and in almost all cases there is more paper visible than ink. 5) Utilize your space well. For example printing post cards 4 up on a standard 8.5 X 11 sheet at 5.5 X 4.25 inches each instead of the standard (Post Office issue) 4 X 6 produces a 1/3 greater yield, reduces cutting charges, and does not effect postage costs. 6) When your budget is tight avoid bleeds, screens, multi colors and other design items that make production costlier and more time consuming. 7) Avoid rushes, make sure that you allow adequate time for completion of your project within normal production scheduling. We try our best to satisfy all your deadlines, however, sometime to do so we must charge extra because of additional costs we incur do to the rush. By avoiding last minute rushes you also allow time for careful preparation of the job and the option to use different production techniques which may save cost, or add impact at little or no cost. By providing ample time you also greatly reduce the chances of miscommunication, and production errors. |
